To create an effective index, search for terms in headings, User Interface terms, acronyms, company-specific terms, procedures, options/features
When addressing a global audience and you are not aware of the use role. Use terms that can be understood by a novice (beginner), advanced, and expert users. To complete this task successfully, you need to understand the product, service or domain effectively.
Index entries that have a space or punctuation (before, in between, or after) sorted first alphabetically (word-by-word), then sorted using special characters.
When creating an index for a special character, include the description of the symbol in parenthesis.
